Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Steward to lead the stewarding team in a fast-paced hotel environment in Singapore. You will oversee hygiene, inventory, scheduling and cross-department collaboration to maintain top service standards.

The role requires at least five years in steward operations with supervisory experience and a diploma or degree in hospitality. You will mentor staff, manage budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
• At least five years of steward or related janitorial experience.
• Two years in supervision and two years in all phases of banquets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highest hygiene and sanitation standards per health department and Stewarding guidelines.
• Direct all aspects of ware washing and cleaning of food preparation areas.
• Regularly inspect equipment to ensure good working order.
• Maintain adequate supply of chinaware, glassware, flatware and service wares; conduct periodic inventories.
• Establish par levels and reorder supplies as needed.
• Prepare weekly work schedules for Stewarding team members.
• Manage schedules for part-time staff according to business volume.
• Record incidents, investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure safety training and sanitation training for all Stewarding staff.
• Coordinate with department heads to maintain cross-functional operations.
• Keep kitchens clean and ready for handover at end of shift.
