Job summary

Burano (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Head Chef / Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, cook dishes per recipes, and ensure quality and presentation.

You will lead the kitchen team to maintain efficiency and standards. Responsibilities include planning workflow, controlling costs, maintaining hygiene and safety, training staff, and collaborating with management on menu development and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant or commercial kitchen operations.
• Prior experience as a Chef, Senior Chef, Sous Chef or Head Chef is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's recipes, quality standards and presentation requirements.
• Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Plan kitchen workflow, manpower allocation and food preparation schedules.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, portion control and presentation.
• Monitor food inventory and coordinate ordering of ingredients and supplies.
• Control food costs and minimise wastage.
• Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, workplace safety and company SOPs.
• Train and guide kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation and operational standards.
• Work closely with the management and operations team on menu development and continuous improvement.
