Job summary

Dyson, a global technology leader, seeks a Lead Firmware Engineer – Battery Management Systems to drive BMS firmware design, validation, and production readiness for Dyson’s battery‑operated consumer electronics. You will work with mechanical, hardware, software, quality, and test teams across EVT, DVT, and PVT phases.

The role requires hands‑on expertise in safety‑critical firmware, cross‑border collaboration, and a track record in embedded systems for battery tech.

Qualifications

• BEng, MSc, or PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Embedded Systems or related discipline.
• Experience: 6+ years in BMS firmware/software, preferably in consumer electronics, automotive or aerospace.
• Proficient in embedded systems programming for battery systems on microcontrollers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop BMS firmware for high‑performance consumer electronics.
• Implement low‑level drivers, middleware, and app layers on microcontrollers.
• Design SOC and SOH algorithms and cell balancing; fault diagnostics.
• Follow ISO 26262, IEC 62133, UL 1642 functional safety standards.
