Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is seeking a Lead Engineer for its Execution Technology team to build high-performance, low-latency trading platforms and robust fault-tolerant systems that handle ultra-high transaction volumes.

This hands-on leadership role drives projects from design through production, mentors engineers, and sets standards for architecture, testing, and deployment across distributed components.

Formación

• 15+ years building trading systems in Java.
• 10+ years multithreaded/concurrent programming and lock-free algorithms.
• 10+ years designing distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading multi-component technical projects end-to-end.
• 5+ years mentoring engineers through coaching and code reviews.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build high-performance trading algorithms and distributed-system components.
• Lead strategic engineering initiatives from initial concept and design through implementation, rollout and post-production support.
• Own multi-component technical projects end-to-end, coordinating with engineering, trading and business stakeholders to deliver agreed delivery, quality, reliability and production-readiness objectives.
• Provide technical leadership across the team, contributing to architecture, engineering standards and development practices.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design collaboration and hands-on technical support.
• Conduct structured design and code reviews against documented quality, performance, security and maintainability standards.
• Improve efficiency, scalability, latency and stability across our systems.
• Collaborate directly with traders, portfolio managers and risk teams to connect technology solutions with business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, modernise and strengthen the execution platform in response to changes in trading, risk or operational requirements.
