About the role
Landscape Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily landscape maintenance and site operations, supervising workers, coordinating manpower and resources, and ensuring that all landscape works are completed efficiently and to the required standards. The role also involves monitoring work quality, attending to site and client requirements, and reporting operational matters to the management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily landscaping and landscape maintenance activities at assigned sites.
- Assign daily tasks and provide guidance to landscape workers to ensure work is carried out properly and efficiently.
- Monitor workers' attendance, performance, productivity, and compliance with work instructions.
- Inspect ongoing and completed works to ensure they meet the required quality and maintenance standards.
- Oversee horticultural activities such as planting, pruning, grass cutting, weeding, fertilising, watering, and general landscape maintenance.
- Monitor the condition and health of plants, trees, turf, and other landscape features, and arrange for necessary maintenance or rectification.
- Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, plants, materials, and other resources required for daily operations.
- Ensure scheduled works are completed within the required timeframe.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify issues requiring attention or follow-up.
- Liaise with clients and site representatives regarding work progress, site conditions, and service requirements.
- Attend to client feedback and coordinate the necessary follow-up or rectification works.
- Ensure workers comply with workplace safety requirements, company procedures, and site regulations.
- Maintain proper records of attendance, work progress, site conditions, materials, and other operational matters.
- Report manpower, equipment, safety, quality, and other site-related issues to management.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and training to workers on proper landscaping and horticultural practices.
- Assist with site meetings, inspections, and other operational activities when required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma, Nitec, Higher Nitec, or relevant certificate in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Arboriculture, or a related field.
- WSQ Landscape Certificate for Supervisors (Level 3) or equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in landscape maintenance or landscaping operations, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of horticultural practices and landscape maintenance.
- Able to supervise, motivate, and manage a team of landscape workers effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with workers, clients, and management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate daily site activities.
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle day-to-day site issues effectively.
- Able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, will be an advantage
Working Hours
Monday to Saturday: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
