Job summary

GIG Coffee seeks a reliable kitchen helper to assist the Assistant/Chef with basic food preparation, washing and cutting ingredients, and heating as needed. You will wash and dry dishes, clean and sanitize prep areas, and handle packing of takeout orders in a fast-paced cafe setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, receiving and storing supplies, and adhering to all food safety and hygiene guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure smooth cafe operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Primary education and valid Food Safety Level 1 certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant/Chef in basic food and/or ingredient preparation including washing, peeling, cutting/slicing, chopping, heating up food etc.
• Wash, clean & dry the kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, kitchen equipment etc.
• Pack takeout orders for customers
• Clean and sanitizing the food preparation areas
• Sweeping & mopping the floor and empty the rubbish bins
• Receive and store supplies & food ingredients in appropriate & hygienic ways
• Followed all food safety & hygiene guidelines and standards.
• Other duties assigned as needed
