Qualifications

• Preferably possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of food safety, proper food handling and hygiene practices.
• Responsible, organised and able to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Able to work independently and manage daily kitchen operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase food ingredients and kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily meal preparation.
• Receive and organise food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment and minimise wastage.
• Prepare food in accordance with established meal plans and food safety requirements.
• Practise proper food handling, preparation and storage techniques to maintain food quality and safety.
• Ensure meals are prepared and distributed to classrooms in a timely and organised manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen, pantry and food storage environment.
• Clean kitchen equipment, countertops, tables, pots, pans, utensils and crockery after meal preparation and service.
• Ensure proper storage of leftover food and ingredients in accordance with food safety guidelines.
• Comply with established food hygiene, sanitation and workplace safety standards.
• Participate in relevant training programmes and workshops to enhance food preparation skills and maintain professional competency.
• Keep up to date with food safety, hygiene and kitchen management practices.
• Carry out other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
