Job summary

T T J DESIGN AND ENGINEERING PTE LTD in Singapore seeks an experienced Tender/Estimating Engineer to prepare detailed cost estimates, monitor budgets, and manage cost control across construction projects. You will perform quantity take-offs, plan costs, handle subcontracting, and advise clients on financial aspects.

The ideal candidate has 5–6 years of tender/estimating experience, is proficient in Excel/Word, can read drawings well, and excels under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in structural/civil engineering or quantity surveying with relevant tender experience.
• Minimum 5–6 years of tender and estimating experience in construction projects.
• Able to read and understand drawings and complex specifications.
• Extensive knowledge of estimating construction projects and contract forms.
• Strong Excel and Word proficiency; good negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
• Monitors budgets, controls costs, and handles tender estimation and costing.
• Quantity take-off, estimation, cost planning, subcontracting, variation orders, and final accounts with clients.
• Reviews progress and prepares monthly progress claims; evaluates subcontractors' claims.
• Identifies financial risks and provides cost advice to project managers and clients.
• Undertaking duties assigned by supervisor/head of department.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares detailed cost estimates for construction projects.


• Monitors project budgets and control costs. Tender estimation and costing.


• Quantity take-off, estimation, cost planning, subcontracting, Variation Orders and Final Accounts with Clients.


• Reviews progress of all on-going projects and preparation of monthly progress claim submissions to Clients; as well as evaluates and prepare Subcontractors' claims.


• Identify financial risks in projects.


• Provide cost advice to project managers and clients.


• Undertaking duties/assignments as and when appropriately assigned by the Superior/Head of the Department.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying


• Minimum 5-6 years of relevant working experience in Tender and Estimating Works.


• Able to read and understand Drawings well.


• Extensive knowledge and experience in estimating construction projects.


• Knowledge of Structural Steel works will be an advantage.


• Knowledge of Standard Conditions of Contracts and Sub-contracts.


• Strong knowledge of contract forms.


• High proficiency with Microsoft office software in Excel and Word.


• Good interpersonal and communication skills.


• Good negotiation and analytical skills


• Can work under pressure.

Working Hours:
5.5-day work week, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:25pm, Sat (Alternate Saturday Off) 8am-1200noon.
