Job summary

PERCEPT SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer to manage network infrastructure, firewall administration, and routing/switching. The role includes technical support, change requests, and maintaining network integrity in line with ITIL practices.

You will work on configuring firewalls from leading vendors, managing Nexus switches and F5 load balancers, and documenting all network changes. Collaboration with a team of engineers and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in network engineering roles.
• Experience managing network infrastructure and firewall administration.
• Familiar with ITIL/ITSM practices and CMDB.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for wired and wireless networks and propose solutions.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement changes on existing network equipment.
• Maintain records of configurations, changes, and DR documentation.
• Configure and manage firewalls (Check Point, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto) and Nexus switches; manage F5 load balancers.
• Gather requirements to design and implement network systems per specs and SLAs.
• Uphold ITIL disciplines for change, incident, problem, release, and CMDB activities.
• Monitor performance and availability; take corrective actions to improve service levels.
• Respond to incidents with root-cause analysis and timely stakeholder updates.
• Develop and maintain documentation for implemented networks and DR plans.
• Assist in proposals and solution presentations; support a network engineering team.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer with expertise in managing network infrastructure, firewall administration, and routing/switching. The role involves providing technical support, implementing change requests, and maintaining the integrity of network systems while adhering to ITIL methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and propose solutions for wired and wireless network-related queries.
• Perform analysis, planning, coordination, and implementation of changes on existing network equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive records of system details, including configurations, changes, issues, and disaster recovery documentation.
• Manage and configure firewalls such as Checkpoint, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto, and Nexus switches, as well as F5 load balancers.
• Gather business and application requirements to plan, design, install, test, and implement network systems in alignment with specifications and service levels.
• Adhere to and enhance ITSM/ITIL methodologies for daily operations, including change, incident, problem, release management, and CMDB.
• Proactively monitor and measure the performance and availability of systems, implementing corrective actions to improve service levels.
• Respond to incidents promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and provide temporary or permanent resolutions. Ensure timely status updates to stakeholders.
• Implement and manage service continuity measures, such as backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
• Assist in preparing proposals and delivering solution presentations.
• Collaborate with and support a team of network engineers as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• IT Experience: Minimum of 3 years
• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in network engineering roles
