Job summary

IFCHOR GALBRAITHS (IG) in Singapore is seeking a Junior Geared Broker to join the Dry Cargo Division. You will support day-to-day broking activity, monitor vessel positions, cargo requirements and freight market developments while building relationships with shipowners and charterers.

Working alongside experienced brokers, you will progressively develop your understanding of Geared trading patterns, major dry bulk commodities and international trade flows, gaining commercial judgement and market

Qualifications

At least 12 months' professional experience in shipping or related field.
Strong communication, relationship-building and commercial acumen.
Interest in shipping, commodities and global markets.

Responsibilities

Support the Geared desk across daily chartering inquiries and broking activity.
Monitor vessel positions, cargo requirements and freight market developments.
Develop knowledge of Geared vessels and major dry bulk commodities.
Identify opportunities to match cargo with suitable vessel availability.
Communicate with shipowners, charterers and operators to gather market information.
