Job summary

Takasago International (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a diligent laboratory technician to prepare and test fragrance applications and bases for personal care, home care, and fabric care products, following team methods.

You will dose fragrances, run performance, stability, compatibility, pH and viscosity tests, and prepare samples with supporting data for internal reviews and customer samples. You will maintain clear records, GLP/EHS compliance, and collaborate with commercial colleagues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years laboratory experience in fragrance, personal care, home care, FMCG or similar chemical lab; fresh graduates considered.
• Willingness to learn fragrance behavior in bases; prior surfactants or emulsions exposure is useful but not essential.
• Careful laboratory habits: follow methods, measure accurately, and record results.
• Comfort with simple smell checks and panel work; writing clear summaries in English.
• Able to follow a work plan, manage several tests, and write up results for managers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test fragrance applications and bases for personal wash, personal care, hair care, home and fabric care, and fine fragrance, following methods set by the team.
• Dose fragrances into finished bases and run performance, stability, compatibility, pH and viscosity work; assess olfactive character and visual quality as required.
• Prepare application samples and supporting data for internal reviews, sensory or panel evaluation, and customer samples when required.
• Keep clear records of formulations, methods and results, and help maintain application files and reports.
• Keep the laboratory in good order: stocks, equipment care, GLP and EHS.
• Flag and help investigate stability, compatibility or performance issues seen in the lab.
• Handle assigned application projects from planning with the manager through testing, documentation and reporting.
• Work with internal stakeholders, including commercial colleagues, by providing test data and short technical summaries.
• To carry out any additional job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline.

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline.

• About 1-3 years of laboratory experience in fragrance, personal care, home care, FMCG or a similar chemical lab. Fresh diploma or gtraduate holders with relevant internship or attachment will be considered.

• Willingness to learn how fragrances behave in common personal-care and home-care bases. Prior exposure to surfactants or emulsions is useful, not essential.

• Careful laboratory habits: follow methods, measure accurately, and record results so others can use them.

• Comfort taking part in simple smell checks and panel work, and writing down what you observe. Formal perfumery training is not required.

• Able to follow a work plan, handle several tests or a small project at once, and write up results in clear English.

• Able to write a short, clear summary of results for the manager and internal stakeholders.

• Good written English and everyday Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Practical, tidy and reliable in a multicultural laboratory team. An additional Southeast Asian language is useful, not required.
