Job summary

Samtec Asia Pacific PTE LTD is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to oversee stocking, replenishment, picking, and shipment preparation while ensuring the inventory system runs smoothly. You will lead a team, own performance metrics, and coordinate with multiple departments to optimize processes and efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, significant experience in inventory/logistics, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years in inventory or logistics preferred.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Learns new systems quickly, including home-grown platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and supervise a team to meet objectives.
  • Own the area’s performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost).
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, and global inventory teams.
  • Respond to information requests from vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
  • Set work procedures, schedules, and workflow; issue guidance.
  • Assign duties, review work for accuracy and policy conformance.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve storage and efficiency.
  • Maintain harmony among staff and resolve grievances.
  • Interview and hire new employees.
  • Collaborate with distribution center managers for cross-functional coordination.

Job Description

Job title: INVENTORY SUPERVISOR

Summary/Objective: The Inventory Supervisor will be responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating the activities related to stocking & replenishing goods, picking product and preparing for shipment, and ensuring that Samtec’s Inventory System is operational.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
  • Responsible to manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve the organizational objectives.
  • Be the area owner and accountable for the area / department performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintain excellent interdepartmental communications, including with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, supply chain, and global inventory and traffic teams.
  • Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve storage, workflow, and efficiency of associates.
  • Maintain harmony among associates and resolve grievances.
  • Interview and hire new employees.
  • Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.

The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.

Required Experience
  • 7+ Years’ Experience in inventory or logistic is preferred
  • Must be able to do multiple things simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
  • Communication and Organizational skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to learn new systems quickly as this position will be using home-grown systems to perform daily tasks and duties.
  • Must be customer service oriented and have attention to detail.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business or a related field.
  • On-the-job experience can replace or supplement educational requirements.
