Job summary

Sembcorp Industries Ltd invites a motivated engineering student to join our Specialized Construction team in Singapore as a trainee for mechanical design support. You will assist in designing ACMV, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and learn under a mentor while using REVIT/AutoCAD to create BIM models and 2D drawings.

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, building services systems and codes requirements.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, VB/Python programing, Revit is an advantage
• Strong willingness to learn mechanical design calculations and engineering tools.
• Good teamwork and communication skills for working in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Due to the sensitive nature of the project, only Singaporean candidates will be considered

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and development of mechanical system designs, including ACMV, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Support the assigned mentor in performing basic mechanical design calculations.
• Use REVIT/Autocad to produce schematic and detail BIM models/2D drawings as directed by mentor.
• Perform computer simulations & calculations e.g. FDS, SprinkCal as directed by mentor.
• Write simple program to automate engineering calculations as directed by mentor e.g. Excel macro & generative BIM model.
• Attend & assist mentor with project meetings & site inspection.
