Job summary

Target Partners Executive Search Pte. Ltd. is assisting a leading foreign wholesale bank in Singapore to recruit an Interest Rate Trader. The role focuses on managing rates trading positions, market-making, and client pricing across IRS and related products.

You will partner with Corporate Banking, Treasury and DCM teams to originate hedging transactions, drive revenue, and implement risk management strategies in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of experience in Rates within Banking/Treasury.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of fixed income, derivatives and market risk management.
• Knowledge of MAS regulations and ability to coach junior members.
• Team player who can work under pressure in a dynamic market.

Responsibilities

• Manage interest rate trading positions and portfolios to meet annual revenue targets with market-making and pricing for corporate clients.
• Execute proprietary and client-driven strategies across IRS, CCS, FRA, Bonds, IR structured products and hedging solutions.
• Provide competitive pricing and execution services to generate revenue from flows.
• Generate trading ideas and identify opportunities via macro, rate cycle and yield curve analysis.
• Identify risk exposures, rebalance portfolios and implement hedging strategies.
• Collaborate with Corporate Banking, Treasury Sales, DCM, Private Banking and FI teams to originate and execute hedging transactions.
• Develop and promote interest rate risk management solutions tailored to client requirements.
• Support cross-selling across FX, rates, fixed income and structured products.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to expand Treasury business.
• Ensure compliance with risk limits, guidelines and regulations.
• Manage ad-hoc projects as assigned by Head of Treasury.

Job description

Our client is a rapidly growing foreign wholesale bank in Singapore. As part of their efforts to grow their global markets franchise, they are seeking to hire an Interest Rate Trader. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage interest rate trading positions and portfolios to achieve annual revenue targets by providing market-making and pricing to corporate clients
• Execute proprietary and client-driven trading strategies across all interest rate products (IRS, CCS, FRA, Bonds, IR Structured products, B/S hedging solutions)
• Provide competitive pricing, market-making and trade execution services to internal and external clients to generate revenue from flows as necessary
• Generate trading ideas to sales team and identify market opportunities through macroeconomic, rate cycle and yield curve analysis.
• Actively identify risk exposures, portfolio repositioning and hedging strategies.
• Partner with Corporate Banking, Treasury Sales, DCM, Private Banking and Financial Institutions teams to originate and execute client hedging transactions.
• Develop and promote interest rate risk management solutions tailored to client requirements regularly.
• Support cross-selling initiatives involving FX, interest rates, fixed income and structured solutions as appropriate.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to expand Treasury business opportunities.
• Ensure product area is compliant with risk limits, internal guidelines and regulations
• Manage Ad-hoc projects as and when assigned by Head of Treasury

Requirements

• 8-15 years of related working experience holding portfolio in the Rates space within the Banking industry in Treasury Department
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• In depth product knowledge of fixed income, derivatives and market risk management
• Knowledge of MAS regulations and experience in coaching younger team member
• Coaching junior team members with guidance, instruction, mentorship and planning
• Team player and yet ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic market environment
