Job summary

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Experience in special needs education is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a positive environment.
• Employ special educational strategies to improve sensory, language, cognition, and memory skills.
• Instruct students using phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition.
• Establish rules and procedures for a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Teacher Aide to achieve quality outcomes.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and priorities for individualized needs.
• Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) with professionals to promote development.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare required reports.
• Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary team.
• Participate in staff development, curriculum meetings, and related activities.
• Perform related work such as events, CCAs, and PLTs.
