Job summary

Woodlands Gardens School in Singapore seeks a Special Education Teacher to deliver student-centred, evidence-based teaching that supports diverse learning needs and holistic development.

The role involves building strong student relationships, maintaining a safe and structured classroom, managing behaviour, and supporting school activities and administrative tasks, including IEP/ITP planning and collaboration with families and allied professionals.

Qualifications

• GCE ’A’ Levels, Diploma or Degree in any discipline; or Diploma in Autism, Education or Special Education.
• Relevant experience in teaching special needs will be an advantage.
• Able to work with children/youth aged 7–18 with learning difficulties.
• Able to work in a team with social workers, therapists and other teaching colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging and well-paced lessons taking account of diverse learner profiles.
• Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy with meaningful activities.
• Implement assessments to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Build strong relationships with students and caregivers.
• Develop IEP/ITP plans and collaborate with families and allied professionals.
• Maintain safe, structured classroom routines to support well-being.
• Engage in professional development and collaborative learning teams.
• Support school activities and daily administrative tasks.
