Job summary

DBiz.ai is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliability, security, and evolution of the organisation’s office IT environment. Qualifications

• 4–6 years of IT infrastructure/workplace IT experience.
• Strong experience in Windows endpoint management (Intune, SCCM/MECM, WSUS).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 operations and identity concepts (Entra ID/Azure AD, SSO/MFA).
• Solid networking fundamentals (switching/routing basics, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN/secure access, firewalls).
• Exposure to virtualization and on-prem infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with ITIL-based operations (incident/problem/change, CMDB).
• Advantage: public sector / WoG environments with IM8 security/compliance.
• Advantage: ITIL/CCNA/Network+· Microsoft certifications; PMP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own office IT operations and service delivery end-to-end (incident, request, problem, change).
• Drive digital workplace transformation with modern endpoint management and collaboration tooling.
• Manage EUC across Windows devices—builds, patching, compliance, and lifecycle refresh.
• Lead identity and access improvements (SSO, MFA, privileged access).
• Design and maintain office network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi) with high availability.
• Oversee on‑premises/server room operations (racking, power/cooling, virtualization).
• Implement and maintain security controls aligned to WoG/IM8 and risk baselines.
• Manage vendors and contracts, track performance, cost optimisation.
• Support procurement and project delivery with technical specs and BAU handover.
• Provide stakeholder communication with service reporting and risk updates.

Job description

The IT Infrastructure Engineer owns the reliability, security, and evolution of the organisation’s office IT environment: spanning end-user computing, identity and access, network infrastructure, and on-premise server room operations. This role balances hands-on technical delivery with operational governance, ensuring stable day-to-day services while driving workplace modernisation (e.g., modern endpoint management, collaboration tooling, smart meeting rooms, and automation). You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver secure, compliant, and user-centric IT services aligned to Whole-of-Government (WoG) policies and IM8 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own office IT operations and service delivery end-to-end (incident, request, problem, change), ensuring service quality, operational readiness, and SLA performance
• Drive digital workplace transformation, including modern endpoint management (UEM), productivity tooling, collaboration platforms, and workflow automation to improve user experience and efficiency
• Manage end-user computing (EUC) across Windows devices and peripherals—standard builds, patching, software distribution, endpoint security, compliance reporting, and lifecycle refresh
• Lead identity and access management improvements (e.g., SSO, MFA, privileged access practices), ensuring secure access and smooth onboarding/offboarding
• Design, maintain, and improve office network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), including segmentation, secure remote access, and high availability for business-critical services
• Oversee on-premise/server room operations (racking, power/cooling coordination, virtualization platforms, monitoring), ensuring stability and recoverability
• Implement and maintain security controls (e.g., endpoint protection, DLP, logging/monitoring, hardening) aligned to WoG/IM8 and internal risk baselines
• Manage vendors and contracts (hardware/software maintenance, ISPs, system integrators), including performance tracking, escalation, and cost optimisation
• Support procurement and project delivery, including drafting technical requirements/specifications (e.g., RFQ/ITQ), evaluating proposals, and managing implementation through to BAU
• Provide clear stakeholder communication—service reporting, risk/issues updates, and recommendations to improve reliability, security, and user experience

Preferred Skills / What We’re Looking For

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, workplace IT, and/or IT operations (mix of hands-on and operational governance)
• Strong experience in Windows endpoint management (e.g., Intune, SCCM/MECM, WSUS), patching, device compliance, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 operations and identity concepts (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, SSO/MFA), plus collaboration tooling administration
• Solid fundamentals in networking (switching/routing basics, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN/secure access, firewall concepts) and operational monitoring/logging
• Exposure to virtualization and on-prem infrastructure (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V) and server room operational practices
• Familiarity with ITIL-based operations and service management discipline (incident/problem/change, CMDB/asset practices)
• Advantage: experience in public sector / WoG environments, including IM8-aligned security and compliance practices
• Advantage: certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CCNA/CCNP/Network+, Microsoft certifications, and/or PMP (or equivalent)
