Job summary

Schneider Electric Singapore is recruiting an Industrial Engineering Intern to join the Method Engineering Team in Tuas. The role focuses on understanding manufacturing processes, improving quality and efficiency, and supporting new product introductions.

Location: Tuas, Singapore

In this role, you will play an important part in improving manufacturing quality, efficiency, and capacity to ensure customer demand is fulfilled on time. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and make a significant impact on our manufacturing processes and new product introductions. What will you do:

Manufacturing process and Engineering process understanding



  • Gain a thorough understanding of production line processes, including physical material flow and manufacturing order management within the SAP system.

  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of production process time data to support operational improvements.

  • Support the preparation, maintenance, and updating of manufacturing and process‑related documentation.


Collect improvement opportunities


  • Identify and propose process improvement opportunities through process reviews and observations, with a focus on optimizing material flow and simplifying documentation and administrative processes.

  • Explore and recommend AI‑driven digitalization solutions to automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support continuous process improvement.


Deploy solutions


  • Develop digitalization and AI‑powered solutions using available automation and AI tools to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Assist in implementing automation solutions to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and improve productivity.


What qualifications will make you successful:


  • Pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Comfortable working on the manufacturing shop floor and actively engaging in hands‑on operational activities.

  • Possess a customer‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for delivering effective solutions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge or experience in coding/programming is preferred. Familiarity with AI tools will be an added advantage.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and mistake‑proofing techniques is beneficial but not mandatory.
