About the role
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing efficiency in optical transceiver production. This role focuses on production capacity planning, line balancing, cost optimization, and continuous improvement through data-driven analysis and Lean methodologies. The Industrial Engineer ensures optimal resource utilization and supports manufacturing excellence in high-volume production environments.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize production line efficiency, including line balancing, cycle time reduction, and bottleneck elimination
- Conduct time studies, work measurement, and capacity analysis
- Develop and maintain standard labor models, production capacity plans, and resource allocation strategies
- Drive improvement initiatives to enhance productivity (UPH), equipment utilization (OEE), and manufacturing cost efficiency
- Optimize factory layout, material flow, and WIP control
- Support NPI activities including line setup, capacity planning, and production ramp readiness
- Monitor and report KPI performance and efficiency trends
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work standards, and process documentation
About you
- Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering within electronics, semiconductor, or optoelectronics manufacturing
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environments is preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including SMT, PCBA assembly, Die Bond (DB), Wire Bond (WB), Active Alignment (AA), Test, and final assembly
- Expertise in line balancing and capacity modeling, time study and motion analysis, and work measurement and standard time setting
- Strong data analysis capability using Microsoft Excel (advanced), data visualization and statistical tools
- Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs (UPH, OEE, Cycle Time, Yield), cost analysis, and labor optimization
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Results-oriented mindset with strong ownership
