Your Team Responsibilities
MSCI Index Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and developing new business across all MSCI Index products. The role focuses on positioning and closing sales for MSCI’s index subscription data, licenses for research reporting, and MSCI‑linked financial products, with a priority on the fast‑money client segment. Depending on skillset, the specialist may also establish relationships with the wealth segment. Sales are made to current and prospective clients, leveraging knowledge of each client’s internal departments (locally and globally) to position MSCI.
This role is highly visible, involving all aspects of an account including senior‑level relationship management, product presentations, contract negotiation, sales closing, product setup, and delivery. Collaborators include global Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Product Management, Finance/ billing departments, and Legal.
Your Key Responsibilities
Scope of Responsibility
- Total Relationship Management involving high‑level management contact and strategic account planning.
- New product placement and answering detailed client inquiries about MSCI products and methodologies.
- Achieve targeted revenue goals.
- Inform clients about MSCI products, announcements, projects, etc.
- Some travel is involved.
- Work with global departments (Client Service, Legal, Contracts, Billing, Marketing, Product Management & Operations) to manage client requests and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of account visits, client conversations, finalized contracts, etc.
- Proactively solicit client feedback on new initiatives and future product development.
- Provide feedback from clients to Marketing, Sales, Research, and Product Development groups.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with major international institutions such as asset managers, superannuation/pension plans, consultants, hedge funds, broker/dealers.
- Understanding of the investment management process and global equity markets.
- Strong sales closing skills.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated, able to work individually and within a team.
- Enjoys intellectual and analytical challenges.
- Superior communication skills, including English fluency (local languages are significant pluses).
Desired Experience
- Extensive sales experience with a history of marketing to institutional clients and a proven record of success.
- At least five years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFA advantageous.
