Job summary

AlpSoft Technologies Pte Ltd is seeking a DC Environment Support engineer to monitor and maintain our data centre facilities. You will oversee power, cooling, fire protection, environmental sensors, and security measures to ensure operations stay within defined levels and service levels.

This role requires hands-on experience in data centre operations, ITIL v4 Foundation certification, and the ability to coordinate with customer teams and suppliers during maintenance activities, including

Qualifications

• Three years of working experience in Data Centre Engineer Operations.
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification or equivalent.
• Ability to monitor infrastructure and coordinate with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facilities infrastructure to ensure operations stay within defined levels.
• Oversee power infrastructure such as UPS and PDUs.
• Manage cooling infrastructure like CRAC units.
• Monitor fire detection and suppression systems.
• Track environment sensors (humidity/temperature).
• Detect water leakage and other anomalies.
• Inform Customer within one hour when problems are detected.
• Collaborate with Customer and Supplier to resolve infra issues per required hours.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with affected parties.
• Provide on-site support during maintenance activities.
• Maintain up-to-date data centre design layouts.
• Manage physical security according to Customer guidelines.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

DC Environment Support

• Shall monitor the facilities infrastructure in the DC to ensure that they are within the operating levels defined by the Customers.
• Power infrastructure (such as Uninterrupted Power Supply and power distribution boards);
• Cooling Infrastructure (such as computer room air-conditioning units);
• Fire detection and suppression systems (such as FM200, water sprinklers, fire extinguishers);
• Environment monitoring system (such as humidity and temperature); and
• Water leakage detection.
• Shall ensure the DC infrastructure is monitored on twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
• The Vendor shall inform the Customer within one (1) hour when problems are detected.
• Shall work with the Customer and Customer-appointed Supplier to resolve any infrastructure issues detected in accordance to the support hours as required by the Customer.

DC Facilities Management Services

• Shall ensure, through daily inspection, that the general cleanliness and tidiness of the data centre are maintained by the Customer-appointed Supplier.
• Shall work with Customer-appointed Supplier on site preparation tasks such as network cabling and electrical wiring, when required.
• Shall ensure the network cabling in the data centre and within the racks are neat and tidy.
• Shall work with the Customer-appointed Supplier for both scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, servicing, repair and upgrading works to the infrastructure at the Customer’s premises and premises identified by the Customer.
• Shall plan and coordinate the maintenance activities. This includes polling the affected parties, obtaining the Customer’s approval, and sending out messages to inform the affected party.
• Shall obtain the Customer’s approval before finalizing the plan for any activity.
• Shall provide on-site support during the maintenance activities unless otherwise agreed by the Customer.
• Shall maintain up-to-date documentation of the data centre design layouts.
• Shall manage the physical security of the data centre in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Customer.
• Shall monitor the following physical security infrastructure to ensure they are within the operating levels defined by the Customer

Requirements:

• Preferably Three (3) years of working experience in Data Centre Engineer Operations experience
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification or equivalent
