Job summary

Index-Cool Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC systems for marine and offshore projects. You will calculate heating and cooling loads, select equipment, and specify system components, ensuring compliance with project schedules.

You will prepare technical drawings and documents, lead technical meetings with shipyards/clients, and collaborate with production, project teams, suppliers, and auditors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, preferably in HVAC marine/offshore sectors.
• Proficient with AutoCAD software and Carrier HAP.
• Strong MS Word/Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs for HVAC systems for marine/offshore projects, including load calculations and equipment specs.
• Prepare technical documentation and drawings per project schedule.
• Lead and manage technical meetings with shipyards/clients.
• Collaborate with production, project teams, suppliers and auditors.
• Support engineering design and drawings work as needed.

Description of Duties

• Creates detailed designs for HVAC systems, including calculating heating and cooling loads, selecting appropriate equipment, and specify in system components.
• Prepares technical documentation/drawings, including Equipment Technical Specification, Duct & Instrument Diagram, Functional Design Specification, and Site Acceptance Test etc., and submit as per project schedule.
• Lead and manage technical meetings with shipyard/client.
• Works closely with shipyard/client, production and project team, suppliers and auditors
• Assist Engineering manager for engineering design and drawings works
• Other duties as assigned by the Management

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the HVAC marine and offshore sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software (AutoCAD), Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program).
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel.
