Job summary

VIRIDIAN MARITIME PTE. LTD. is seeking a seasoned HR professional in Singapore to provide comprehensive HR services, align with policy, and support administrative functions across local and regional offices.

You will coordinate recruitment for shore-based staff, manage payroll, monitor probation and performance processes, and ensure data protection and confidentiality in all HR records. The role also involves training planning and event organization within the region.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a similar HR role managing full HR functions.
  • Good understanding of Singapore employment law and requirements.
  • Experience in marine/shipping industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail in multicultural settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR policies and procedures in local and regional offices as applicable.

  • Monitor probationary periods and milestones, and take action when required.
  • Assist with salary, pay reviews and appraisal processes as required.
  • Responsible for payroll processing for all company staff and maintaining confidential records.
  • Promote and support best practice HR initiatives across the business.
  • Develop localized training plans with MD and Group Training Manager.
  • Handle office management and day-to-day administration; organize events in Singapore/region.

Job description

Main Purpose of Job

Support the business through the provision of HR services in accordance with company's HR requirements, policy, and through admin and support services as directed & required by the Managing Director.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and embed all HR Policies and procedures within the local and regional offices, as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance of policies, and requirements by personnel.
  • Co-ordinate recruitment activities for all shore-based employees as necessary, liaising with key stakeholders, obtaining relevant documentation and keeping appropriate records.
  • Monitor probationary periods and other key milestones for staff, and taking action when required.
  • Monitor and collate information for the performance management and objective setting process for the business.
  • Produce Monthly management information as required.
  • Administer the company benefit schemes ensuring all documentation is pertinent and correct.
  • To maintain staff records ensuring information is up to date and is maintained confidentially, ensuring Data protection is not breached regards to “subject access rights” to personal data.
  • Assist MD with salary, pay review and appraisal processes where required.
  • Responsible for and manage / process payroll for all company based staff.
  • Co-ordinate arrangements in relation to exit of employees from the company, including record keeping, exit interviews and retirement processes.
  • Promote and support best practice HR initiatives throughout the business.
  • Develop localized training plans for staff in conjunction with the MD and as required & relevant, with the Group Training Manager.
  • Any other Projects, HR, training and admin tasks within the scope and level of the post.
  • Responsible for office management and its day to day administration.
  • Take the lead with the organization of corporate and staff events / exhibitions /conferences if held in Singapore or the region.
  • Provide support to strategic business functions and assist any other functions within the business as required.
Minimum Experience requirements
  • Experience in the marine and shipping industry would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years prior experience in a similar HR role and function, managing full spectrum HR responsibilities and requirements.
  • Good Understanding of Singapore employment law, as well as relevant employment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an attention to detail, specifically concerning and dealing with a multicultural set-up.
  • Open and approachable nature to discuss matters of common interest for the company and its employees.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in teams and to deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, professional, discrete and pro-active, with an appreciation of confidentiality, flexible approach, and an understanding of financial information.
