Job summary

Katoen Natie is seeking a Safety, Health and Environment Coordinator on-site in Singapore. You will help establish and maintain WSH documentation, review risk assessments, and inspect and audit facilities to ensure compliance with legislation and client requirements.

You will also conduct safety training, respond to incidents, coordinate with vendors for safety equipment, and support continuous safety improvements across operations, including security and drills.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of working experience in manufacturing, warehousing or logistics.
• Able and comfortable working on Jurong Island.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong operational background and a keen eye for details.
• Ability to work at height and climb cat ladders.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and other in-house software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishment and upkeep of Workplace Safety and Health documentation and records in accordance with legislation.
• Review method statements and risk assessments as required under WSH Act and subsidiary legislation.
• Inspect and audit workplace to ensure compliance with WSH legislations, safety management system and client requirements.
• Carry out daily inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
• Assist, recommend and support in implementing reasonably practicable measures to remedy unsafe conditions and practices.
• Conduct and generate reports for HSSEQ internal and external audits, client assessments and drills; follow up to close safety actions.
• Liaise with vendors and contractors to maintain emergency and fire safety equipment.
• Perform monthly fire alarm testing.
• Plan, develop and deliver HSSEQ training for staff, visitors, contractors and hauliers.
• Respond to non-conformities, near misses and incidents; investigate and provide root-cause recommendations and close actions promptly.
• Responsible for site security and coordinating 24hrs security services.
• Other duties as assigned by superior.

Job description

• Assist in establishment, upkeep of Workplace Safety and Health documentation and records in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health Legislation.
• Review method statements & risk assessment (if required) in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health Act and Subsidiary legislation
• Inspect & audit workplace to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health legislations, company's safety management system and clients' requirement.
• Carry out daily inspections to identify any unsafe condition and unsafe work practice which is carried out on the workplace.
• Assist, recommend and support in implementing reasonably practicable measures to remedy the unsafe condition and unsafe work practice.
• Conduct and generate reports for HSSEQ internal & external audits, client assessments, authority assessments, table-top exercises, emergency drills, security drills. Close follow up to complete safety actions.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors to maintain emergency and fire safety equipment.
• Perform monthly fire alarm testing.
• Plan, develop and deliver HSSEQ training for staff, visitors, contractors, hauliers.
• Respond to Non-conformities, Near Misses and Incidents to provide support to Operations, CERT Team and other departments. Investigate and provide recommendations to address root causes of the non-conformities, near misses and incidents. Follow up and provide support to close incident actions promptly.
• Responsible for Site Security and managing Security Agency providing 24hrs site security services.
• Other duties as assigned by superior.

Job requirements

• At least 2 years of working experience (preferred manufacturing, warehousing & logistic industry)
• Able and comfortable working on Jurong Island
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong operational background and a keen eye for details
• Ability to work at height and climb cat ladders.
• Proficiency in MS office applications and other in-house software.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Advanced Certificate in WSH Level B and/or any relevant Safety Certificates.
• Attended the WSH Coordinator Refresher Course
• Confine Space Assessor Certificate will be an advantage
• ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 Internal Auditor Trained will be an advantage
