Job summary

Wise is seeking a senior leader to own Central Payment Operations, embedding a team of Product Specialists and Technical Leads with the payment defects & incidents squad. You will drive AI-enabled workflows, define evaluation frameworks, and grow leadership within the function.

You will collaborate across Risk, Compliance, Analytics, Workforce Management, and Internal Audit to design scalable, observable operations. The role reports to the Head of Central Payment Operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in operations, product-ops, or product roles with end-to-end ownership
• Experience partnering with a Product Manager and Engineering Lead to co-shape roadmaps
• Hands-on experience with shipped AI, agent, or LLM-driven workflows
• SQL literacy and ability to validate data/code with AI tools
• Understanding of software development principles and engineering trade-offs
• Executive presence in senior forums and cross-functional settings
• Coaching senior ICs into future leaders

Responsibilities

• Move core operational metrics at scale: cost, first-resolve rate, defect rate
• Co-shape the roadmap with PM and Engineering Lead; be the ops voice in strategy
• Design AI transitions and ship AI-assisted workflows in production; build eval and observability
• Build leadership bench by mentoring senior contributors into leadership roles
• Represent the function in Risk, Compliance, Analytics, Workforce Management, QA, Training, Internal Audit, PayOps
