Job summary

Seoulstart is seeking a visionary leader for Central Payment Operations to collaborate with Product and Engineering, driving AI-powered workflows and measurable improvements in payment processes.

You will own critical metrics, coach senior contributors, and advocate for operational excellence while representing PayOps in executive risk, compliance, and analytics forums.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in operations, product-ops, or product in fintech/payments.
• End-to-end ownership from problem to measurable impact.
• Able to validate AI-assisted data and code work using SQL and literacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead Central Payment Operations with Product Specialists and Technical Leads.
• Own cost, first-resolution rate, defect rate, and operational loss metrics.
• Co-shape roadmap with Product Manager and Engineering as operations voice.
• Ship AI-assisted workflows and establish observability foundations.
• Design hybrid human-plus-AI operating patterns.
• Grow senior ICs into future leaders.
• Represent PayOps in risk, compliance, analytics, quality, and leadership forums.

What you'd do:

• Lead Central Payment Operations alongside Product Specialists and Technical Leads
• Own cost, first-resolution rate, defect rate, and operational loss metrics
• Co-shape roadmap with Product Manager and Engineering as operations voice
• Ship AI-assisted workflows and build evaluation and observability foundations
• Design and prove hybrid human-plus-AI payment operations operating patterns
• Grow senior individual contributors and Technical Leads into future leaders
• Represent PayOps in Risk, Compliance, Analytics, Quality, and leadership forums

What they want:

• Hold six plus years in operations, product-ops, or product at fintech or payments
• Demonstrate end-to-end domain ownership from problem through shipped measurable impact
• Partner with Product Manager and Engineering Lead to co-shape roadmaps
• Ship at least one AI, agent, or LLM-driven workflow in operations
• Use SQL and code literacy to validate AI-assisted data and code work
• Understand software development principles enough to challenge engineer trade-offs
• Present confidently and push back in senior operations and engineering forums
• Coach senior individual contributors into future leaders with credible IC depth
• Turn technical operational realities into strategic narratives for non-technical audiences

Nice to have:

• Bring payments, banking, or regulated financial services background
• Have experience leading organisations through operating-model transitions
• Define eval frameworks, observability, or human-in-the-loop AI design
• Use modern AI tooling including LLM APIs and agent frameworks
