Job summary

Singapore Management University is seeking a Research Engineer to join the SMU Urban Institute. You will work with the Lead PI and Co-PIs on outdoor lane-level navigation and indoor pedestrian navigation projects, turning research goals into concrete software deliverables.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field
Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years relevant working experience

Responsibilities

Software implementation: deployable modules from GNSS/RTK corrections and positioning integration.
Field testing and data collection across varied venues (malls, MRT stations, bus interchanges).
Documentation and reporting: maintain technical docs and project milestones.
Data management following SMU policies and data handling rules.
Collaborate with PhD students, postdocs and Co-PIs; liaise with government partners as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
