Job summary

The National University of Singapore’s Perceptica Robotics Lab in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department invites applications for a full-time Research Engineer. The role focuses on single and multi-robot mapping and navigation, with hands-on work in indoor and outdoor experiments using ground robots.

You will develop algorithms for SLAM, map and navigation stacks, and contribute to dataset collection and analysis, collaborating with the PI Dr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable institution.
• Experience in building SLAM systems with well-known robotics companies.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct indoor and outdoor experiments with single- and multi-robot systems.
• Monitor, document, and report experimental results and research findings.

Job Description

The position is a full-time Research Engineer position in the Perceptica Robotics Lab in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the National University of Singapore.

The selected candidate will work closely with the PI (Dr. Rajat Talak) on projects related to single and multi-robot mapping and navigation. The work will include:

• Indoor and outdoor experimentations with single- and multi-robot systems
• Conducting accurate monitoring, documentation, and reporting of experimental results and research findings
• Develop innovative algorithms and methods to solve challenging problems in mapping and navigation.
• Dataset collection and processing

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications
  1. 1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable institution.
  2. 2. Prior experience in building SLAM system with well-known robotics companies.
• Expertise
  1. 1. SLAM and mapping pipeline.
  2. 2. Training and using deep learning models.
  3. 3. Prior experience ground robots.
  4. 4. Skills and technical expertise in coding: python, C++, ROS.
  5. 5. Skills to implement robot navigation stack.
