Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a Global Head of Software Engineering to define and execute the enterprise software engineering strategy and build scalable, secure platforms that enable technology teams to deliver software reliably at scale.

The role leads a large, globally distributed organisation across engineering platforms, DevOps, and related capabilities, partnering with CIOs, architecture, cyber security, and risk to drive transformation and governance.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in large, globally distributed software engineering teams.
• Proven ability to define and execute enterprise-wide software engineering strategy and roadmaps.
• Experience modernising platforms, reducing technical debt and adopting best practices.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the enterprise Software Engineering strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Modernise critical engineering platforms, drive automation and standardisation.
• Advance DevSecOps, CI/CD, self-service platforms and SDLC standards.
• Ensure resilience, security, and reliable operations of foundational services.
• Lead engineering transformation toward modern platforms, APIs, containers and AI-enabled tooling.
• Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing global engineering organisation.
