Job summary

SM2 Consulting seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading global semiconductor equipment company, supporting advanced deposition equipment and processes. You will resolve complex issues, travel to customer sites, and work with global engineering teams to improve tool performance.

Ideal candidates have hands-on troubleshooting expertise and a background in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics disciplines, with strong communication skills and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Hands-on troubleshooting of complex semiconductor equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault isolation skills for electro-mechanical, vacuum, and software systems.
• Experience supporting semiconductor deposition equipment is preferred, including CVD/PECVD/ALD/PVD processes.
• Clear, structured communication with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on semiconductor deposition equipment.
• Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis for challenging problems.
• Provide advanced technical support at customer sites, including diagnostics and recovery.
• Act as a technical escalation point for field engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with product, process, software, reliability, and R&D teams to implement solutions.
• Analyze data to identify failure mechanisms and performance improvements.
• Communicate findings, actions, and recommendations clearly to customers and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge and best practices.
• Develop technical documentation, procedures, and service solutions.
