Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an experienced Global Export Compliance Manager to lead the build-up and ongoing enhancement of its export control and trade compliance program across operations worldwide.

You will design and operate core compliance processes, including screening, end-user due diligence, record keeping, training, and audit readiness, while partnering with legal, product, engineering, and supply chain teams to embed controls in day-to-day workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in international trade, law, compliance, or related field.
• Extensive experience in export controls, trade compliance, or related regulatory work.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. export control laws, EAR, licensing fundamentals.
• Experience building or enhancing compliance programs in multinational environments.
• Experience managing screening, end-user due diligence, record keeping, training, and audits.
• Ability to assess export control risk across onboarding, ownership diligence, and red flags.

Responsibilities

• Support build-up and enhancement of export control and trade compliance program across policies, governance, and training.
• Design and manage core compliance operations including screening, end-user due diligence, record keeping, and audit readiness.
• Develop and maintain cross-border processes, technology transfers, onboarding, cloud/IaaS access, and compute infrastructure reviews.
• Partner with legal, business, product, engineering, procurement, logistics, HR, and operations to embed requirements.
• Assess and manage export control risks across supply chain including ECCN classification and screening in procurement.
