Job summary

DHL Express Singapore is seeking a Classification Agent (South Asia Hub) to accurately classify shipments and determine duties and taxes payable for imports/exports. You will support both Formal and Informal declarations and prepare compliant data for submission.

Responsibilities include data validation, communications with customs authorities, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations. Shift work is expected, with preference for candidates familiar with tariff classifications and

Qualifications

• At least a GCE O Level.
• Minimum 2 years experience working in customs clearance matters within logistics, international transportation or brokerage.
• Customs certification on Import/Export trade or brokerage related subject is preferred.
• Proficient with a computer and typewriting skills.
• Class 3 driving license is preferred/advantageous.
• Role requires shift work.

Responsibilities

• Classify commodities and determine duties/taxes in accordance with tariff classifications and local guidelines.
• Prepare accurate and compliant customs data for Formal and Informal entry submissions.
• Validate and correct shipment data to match customer documents and DHL records.
• Ensure compliance with Customs policies and procedures and liaise with authorities as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct when dealing with government agencies.
