Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Management, Retail Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in retail, wholesale, procurement or related operations.
• Proven experience leading sales and procurement teams and meeting targets.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Experience with inventory management, supplier relations and planning.
• Familiarity with luxury resale markets and authentication is a plus.
• Experience with ecommerce, digital marketplaces and live-selling is advantageous.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to oversee the overall business operations, procurement, sales performance and team management of our pre-owned luxury goods business in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies, leading the sales and procurement teams, managing inventory and ensuring operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of product authenticity, customer service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Operations & Strategic Management
  • Oversee daily business operations, including procurement, sales, inventory management and logistics.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and growth targets.
  • Establish operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and performance standards.
  • Monitor operational budgets, expenses and overall business profitability.
  • Report business performance, operational challenges and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Sales & Business Development
  • Lead and manage sales teams across retail, wholesale, e-commerce and live-selling channels.
  • Develop sales strategies, establish performance targets and monitor team achievements.
  • Identify new business opportunities, customer segments and potential partnerships.
  • Oversee customer relationship management, pricing strategies and sales negotiations.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and professional sales practices.
• Procurement & Inventory Management
  • Lead procurement activities involving pre-owned luxury handbags, leather goods, accessories and other designer products.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, dealers, consignors and business partners.
  • Oversee product sourcing, purchasing negotiations, cost evaluation and profit-margin management.
  • Ensure appropriate product authentication, condition assessment, valuation and quality-control procedures.
  • Manage inventory turnover, stock accuracy, product movement and stock-related risks.
• Team Leadership & People Management
  • Manage, supervise and develop the sales, procurement and operations teams.
  • Establish individual and departmental KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, training and staff development.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable employment regulations.
• Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Singapore laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee proper documentation of purchases, sales, inventory and customer transactions.
  • Coordinate with finance and logistics teams on GST, import/export documentation and relevant customs requirements.
  • Implement internal controls to minimise operational, financial and inventory risks.
  • Ensure transparent and ethical business practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Retail Management or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant management experience in retail, wholesale, trading, procurement or related business operations.
• Proven experience managing sales and procurement teams and achieving business performance targets.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Experience in inventory management, supplier relations and operational planning.
• Knowledge of luxury resale markets, product authentication or pre-owned luxury goods is an advantage.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, digital marketplaces and live-selling operations is advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple business functions.
