Job summary

Morgan McKinley Pte. Ltd. is seeking an FX Trading Production Support Engineer to support live foreign exchange trading applications for a global bank.

You will investigate production incidents, troubleshoot trading connectivity, and collaborate with trading, technology, and infrastructure teams to restore service. The role emphasizes debugging FIX sessions, applying Unix/Linux, SQL and scripting skills, and building robust monitoring.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting FIX sessions and messages in a live trading environment.
• Strong Unix/Linux, SQL and shell scripting skills; experience in Python or Java.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools: Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Geneos.
• At least 5 years of production support, SRE or DevOps in trading/financial services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor FX trading applications to identify and investigate issues affecting order flow, trade execution, and system availability
• Use Unix/Linux commands, application logs, and SQL queries to trace transactions and diagnose production failures
• Troubleshoot FIX connectivity and messaging issues, including session failures, rejected orders, and missing messages, to maintain trading system integrity
• Coordinate incident resolution by communicating updates clearly and documenting root causes and follow-up actions for continuous improvement
• Support production releases by conducting post-deployment checks and participating in disaster recovery exercises to ensure system resilience
• Enhance monitoring capabilities and automate recurring support tasks to improve operational efficiency

• Practical understanding of FX products and the trade lifecycle, supported by at least 5 years of production support, site reliability engineering, or DevOps experience in trading or financial services environments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software delivery methodologies
