Job summary

The Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS, A*STAR) invites applications for a Research Officer specialized in molecular biology and cell model systems to join a new incoming laboratory. The role centers on establishing lab infrastructure and running experiments related to large‑scale functional genomics screens.

You will set up the lab, contribute to experimental design, and work alongside postdocs and PhD students, with collaboration across core facilities and external partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in biology or related field (BSc, MSc or equivalent).
• Solid hands‑on experience in molecular biology, cell culture, cell sorting and NGS library prep.
• Advantageous: single‑cell technologies, T cell isolation, 2D/3D cell models, pooled genetic screens.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology experiments, library cloning, cell culture, cell sorting, and lentiviral transductions.
• Plan and run large‑scale genetic screens using single‑cell sequencing, imaging, and FACS.
• Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and documentation with precise records.
• Manage orders, reagents, equipment, and ensure safe daily operations for the team.
• Support postdocs and PhD students and collaborate with core facilities and partners.
