Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking a seasoned professional to own Freight System Architecture and Roadmap, driving the digital transformation of logistics and automation initiatives. You will translate business needs into technical design, manage integrations with SAP and other ERP platforms, and guide cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on building real-time visibility via Power BI dashboards, overseeing AI and automation lifecycles, and delivering scalable architecture across the freight

Qualifications

• Background in Supply Chain, Logistics, freight ops or software/data engineering is an advantage.
• Ability to lead technical transitions including staff training and go-live support.
• Proficient in Jira/Confluence for backlog and cross-team dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain system architecture diagrams for the freight ecosystem.
• Define the technical roadmap aligned with scalability and digital transformation.
• Translate business requirements into detailed system narratives and technical designs.
• Provide developers and vendors with blueprints including DB schemas, UI/UX mockups, and validation rules.
• Oversee integration with 3rd-party logistics platforms and SAP ERP systems.
• Track KPIs like uptime and API performance and conduct post-implementation audits.
• Prioritize work using RICE or WSJF and bridge freight ops with engineering.

Job description

Freight System Architecture & Roadmap

• Design and maintain comprehensive system architecture diagrams for the freight ecosystem
• Define the technical roadmap, aligning engineering initiatives with long-term business goals like scalability and digital transformation.

Freight Operations Digitalisation & Automation

• Translate business requirements into comprehensive system narratives and technical design specifications
• Provide developers and vendors with detailed blueprints, including database schema designs (tables, columns, data types), UI/UX mockups, mapping logic, validation/error-handling rules, and audit logging frameworks

Data Analytics, AI & Automation Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and automated reports to provide logistics stakeholders with real-time visibility into freight performance, operational bottlenecks, and financial KPIs.
• Manage the end-to-end AI lifecycle, including the independent design, build, and production deployment of intelligent agents to automate manual freight processes.

Systems Integration & Technology Ecosystem Management

• Oversee integration with 3rd-party logistics platforms, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and freight vendors, managing technical relationships and SLAs.
• Define and track critical technical and business KPIs (e.g., system uptime, API response times).
• Conduct post-implementation audits to measure operational improvements

Stakeholder & Business Partnership Management

• Use data-driven scoring systems (e.g., RICE or WSJF) to prioritize the team's workload and balance new features against maintenance, security, and stability requirements.
• Bridge the gap between freight operations and engineering by deconstructing complex needs (e.g., customs compliance, real-time tracking) into actionable user stories and technical specs

Others

• Undertake assigned projects or duties as directed by Management.

Job Requirements

• Background in Supply Chain, Logistics, freight operations environment or as a software developer/data engineer environments is an advantage
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and like to hands on experimentation of emerging technology
• Ability to lead technical transitions, including staff training, system migrations, and "go-live" support projects.
• Able to execute RFP/RFI processes for selecting vendors, focusing on technical flexibility and long-term supportability.
• High level of expertise in Jira/Confluence for managing backlogs and cross-team dependencies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and digital skills, with interest in AI-driven logistics / supply chain.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement abilities across internal and external partners.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work independentlyand manage multiple priorities
• Ability to lead cross-functional coordination and continuous-improvement / change management projects.

Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 7–10 years in product management, with at least 3 years in a technical role within logistics or freight forwarding.
• Industry certifications such as PMP, CSPO, CSCP is an advantage.
