Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking a Master Planner to drive accurate SKU forecasting and optimize inventory across international markets. You will align demand with production, balance factory capacity, and minimize stockouts while reducing waste.

The role requires 3–5 years in planning within food or perishable FMCG with global distribution, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP planning tools. A Bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field is preferred.

Job description

The role is to drive accurate SKU forecasting and optimize inventory levels across international and regional markets, minimizing out-of-stocks and excess inventory waste. Partner closely with global markets to align demand, optimize production capacity, and ensure efficient utilization of production lines to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Global Demand Consolidation

• Maintain the master global demand schedule to give the factory clear, long-term production visibility

• Analyze historical sales data, seasonality, and market trends to build rolling 12-month demand forecasts

• Aggregate, review, and validate monthly sales forecasts from all international market units and regional distributors

• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to factor in retail promotions, trade tenders, and seasonal spikes

• Track forecast accuracy metrics (MAPE/Bias), run root-cause analysis on variances, and adjust models accordingly

Master Production & Supply Planning

• Translate consolidated global demand into a Master Production Schedule (MPS).

• Translate demand signals into monthly actionable production and packaging schedules for own canning facilities or co-packers.

• Balance production runs to optimize factory efficiency (minimizing line changeovers between different fish types/sauces) while meeting market delivery deadlines.

• Manage safety stock allocations across regional hubs, shifting inventory dynamically if one market experiences a sudden shortage or surge.

• Balance target inventory levels with shelf-life constraints to minimize slow-moving stock, obsolescence, and write-offs.

• Ability to lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) alignment meetings to resolve demand-supply imbalances and mitigate stockout risks

Material & Constraint Management

• Partner with procurement to ensure raw material availability (local or imported fish, tinplate, local ingredients) aligns with the production plan.

• Factor in manufacturing operational constraints, such as fishing seasons, plant maintenance, and public holiday shutdowns.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or International Business.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on planning experience within food, beverage, or perishable FMCG sectors and global market distribution.

• Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, and working knowledge of ERP systems or supply chain software (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle, or equivalent planning tools).

• Soft Skills: Strong cross-functional communication, negotiation skills with vendors, and adaptability under fluctuating supply constraints. Ability to manage diverse international stakeholders, stakeholder management, and structural problem-solving.
