POET Technologies is seeking a Finance Specialist to support daily accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and timely processing in line with company policies and reporting standards. The candidate should have a Diploma in Accounting with at least 3 years of finance experience, proficiency in Excel, and exposure to NetSuite ERP.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of experience in finance/accounting.
• Familiarity with SFRS and IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of NetSuite ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable and receivable with accurate data entry and timely payments.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on invoicing and payments.
• Process and update invoices, payment records, databases and spreadsheets.
• Process staff claims and expense reimbursements accurately and on time.
• Support statutory audits and tax requirements, and other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned.
• Assist in reconciliations, especially payables and balance sheet schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including accurate data entry and timely processing of payments
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on invoicing and payment matters
• Process and update invoices, payment records, databases and spreadsheets
• Process staff claims and expense reimbursements accurately and on time
• Support statutory audit and tax requirements, and other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned
• Assist in performing reconciliations especially payables and balance sheet schedules

Requirements

• At least Diploma in Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in a finance and accounting role
• Familiarity with SFRS and IFRS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Knowledge of ERP (NetSuite) is an added advantage
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
