This hands-on leadership role manages the accounting team, multi-country operations, and ensures accurate reporting, reconciliations and merchant funding accounting with strong financial controls. The role covers close management, statutory compliance, and cross-border finance workflows, including collaboration with auditors and external accountants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA/CA/ACCA qualification is highly preferred.
• Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments.

Job description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day regional finance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the accounting team, overseeing multi-country financial operations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and merchant settlement accounting, while maintaining effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management: Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team responsible for regional finance operations.
• Daily Finance Operations: Oversee billing, accounts payable, accounting operations, and related finance activities. Work closely with the Funding team to ensure funding activities are accurately recorded.
• Merchant & Funding Reconciliations: Own the reconciliation process for merchant segregated bank accounts, merchant balances and acquirer funding. Review reconciliation results, drive timely resolution of outstanding items, and take a hands-on role in investigating material or complex discrepancies with the Funding and Operations teams.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the monthly and annual financial close across regional entities. Review journal entries, balance sheet schedules and intercompany reconciliations, and ensure timely and accurate entity-level, consolidated and group reporting. Manage local GST/VAT reporting and coordinate with external auditors and outsourced local accountants on statutory and tax matters.
• Regional / Entity Finance: Oversee the financial accounts and reporting of regional entities and affiliates, working closely with local outsourced accountants to ensure accurate and timely accounting and tax compliance.
• Management Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review management and cost-centre financial analysis and reporting, providing insights into financial performance, costs, and variances.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, cost analysis, and financial planning.
• Financial Controls: Maintain and enhance robust financial controls, processes, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Systems & Process Improvements: Manage and optimize the core accounting system, including Xero, and drive continuous improvements across billing, payables, funding-related accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and cross-border finance workflows.
• Other Finance Activities: Support ad-hoc finance projectsand undertake other finance-related initiatives as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA is highly preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with proven experience managing multi-entity and multi-currency accounts.
• Strong knowledge of applicable local accounting standards, with experience in group reporting and consolidation.
• Experience in payments, e-commerce, card acquiring, banking or fintech is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in people management, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop an accounting team.
• Strong proficiency in accounting systems and Excel, with experience improving financial processes and handling large transaction datasets. Experience with Xero is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and identify issues and trends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, entities, and external stakeholders.
