Job summary

South Central Community Family Service Centre in Singapore seeks a Finance Executive for a one-year full-time contract to support day-to-day finance operations, processing transactions, reconciliations, and audit support. Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Two years of relevant accounting experience; fresh graduates will be considered.
  • Understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles; AP/AR or bank reconciliation is an advantage.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; NetSuite experience is an advantage.
  • Exposure to charities or non-profit organisations is an advantage.
  • Meticulous and organized with good numerical accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Able to collaborate, communicate clearly, and learn new processes.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including POs, supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payment schedules.
  • Record accounts receivable transactions, receipts and donations accurately and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Post general ledger and bank transactions, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, account schedules, and documents for month- and year-end closing and audits.
  • Maintain fixed-asset and electronic filing records with audit trails and confidentiality.
  • Support management reports, budgets, grant claims and funding reports with validated data.
  • Update donation records in IRAS portal for tax-deductible receipts and donor acknowledgements.
  • Support finance system administration and process improvements.
  • Perform other assigned finance duties within role responsibility.

About the Finance Executive role

The Finance Executive provides hands‑on support for SCCFSC's day‑to‑day finance operations, focusing on accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, records and support for closing, grants, donations and audits. This one‑year contract role suits an early‑career finance professional seeking practical experience in a social service agency.

Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable transactions, including purchase orders, supplier invoices, staff expense claims and payment schedules, ensuring that supporting documents and approvals are complete.
  • Record accounts receivable transactions, receipts and donations accurately, and follow up on routine outstanding items where required.
  • Post general ledger and bank transactions, including accruals and prepayments, in accordance with established policies, procedures and approval limits.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, account schedules and supporting documents for month‑end, year‑end closing and year‑end audit, and follow up on reconciling items.
  • Maintain accurate fixed‑asset, finance and electronic filing records with clear audit trails and appropriate confidentiality.
  • Support management reports, annual budgets, grant claims and funding reports by compiling data and verifying the supporting documents.
  • Update donation records in IRAS portal for tax‑deductible receipts, support donor acknowledgement, and prepare routine audit documents and schedules.
  • Support finance system administration and any process improvements and perform other assigned finance duties within the role's responsibility.
Competencies and requirements
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline; relevant accounting certification may also be considered.
  • Two years of relevant accounting experience, fresh graduates will be considered.
  • Understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles; exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable or bank reconciliation is an advantage.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and learning accounting systems; experience with NetSuite is an advantage but not required.
  • Exposure to charities, social service agencies, non‑profit organisations or accounting firms is an advantage.
  • Meticulous and organised, with good numerical accuracy, follow‑through and respect for confidentiality.
  • Able to collaborate ,communicate clearly, learn new processes and seek guidance when an issue is outside the role's authority or experience; availability at short notice is an advantage.
