Nearfield Instruments is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade metrology systems at customer facilities across Asia. You will work with customers, support teams, and HQ to resolve issues and ensure reliable operation in high-volume manufacturing environments.

The role requires a Bachelors in a technical field, semiconductor experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry or supporting semiconductor equipment.
• Experience with field service, equipment support, installations, maintenance, or process engineering.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Affinity with software, controls, and automation.
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to support short term, overseas assignment and work in semiconductor fabs.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Nearfield systems.
• Execute hardware and software upgrades.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collect and analyze diagnostic and logging data.
• Execute system testing and document service activities.
• Install and replace spare parts using approved procedures.
• Identify and propose improvements to product reliability and serviceability.
• Support system installations and customer escalations.
