Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering or related field with 2 years experience in manufacturing/production; or AA with >5 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
• Familiarity with sequence of events (SOE) and assembly documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Create Manufacturing ready documentation from Assembly Prints and BOMs (SOE, workflows).
• Provide technical direction and training to production staff.
• Plan and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineer portion of system builds.
• Prepare/modify work instructions and training curricula.
• Coordinate with customers and vendors; attend customer meetings.
• Support cost estimations and capital project planning; evaluate engineering changes.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job Summary:

The Field Service Engineer supports manufacturing operations by developing documentation processes, optimizing assembly workflows, and ensuring product quality and compliance. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and customers to streamline build procedures, resolve technical issues, and implement engineering changes. It provides training, drives continuous improvement, and contributes to cost estimation and capital planning. The Engineer II plays a key role in delivering efficient, safe, and high-quality production outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.'s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
• Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
• Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.
• Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
• Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
• Requires contact with Customers, vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.
• Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices to streamline build processes and procedures.
• Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Supports project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Investigating customer or internal issues determines the nature and extent of the problem and recommends corrective actions.
• Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
• Evaluates and process Engineering Change Orders.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Attendance is an essential duty of this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
• Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e., Sequence).
• ERP System Software.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
• Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
• Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
