Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering preferred; or AA with 5+ years manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software (e.g., Sequence).
  • ERP System Software proficiency.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Create Manufacturing ready documentation such as SOEs and Assembly Process Workflow.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.
  • Prepare and modify work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Attend and participate in Customer meetings with customers/vendors.
  • Discuss best practices to streamline build processes and procedures.
  • Inspect completed systems ensuring conformance to design and safety standards.
  • Support project production efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Investigate customer or internal issues to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Assist in cost estimations and capital project planning for new equipment.
  • Evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders.

Job Summary:

The Engineer supports manufacturing operations by developing documentation processes, optimizing assembly workflows, and ensuring product quality and compliance. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and customers to streamline build procedures, resolve technical issues, and implement engineering changes. It provides training, drives continuous improvement, and contributes to cost estimation and capital planning. The Engineer II plays a key role in delivering efficient, safe, and high-quality production outcomes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.'s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.


  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.


  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.


  • Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.


  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.


  • Requires contact with Customers, vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.


  • Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices to streamline build processes and procedures.


  • Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.


  • Supports project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.


  • Investigating customer or internal issues determines the nature and extent of the problem and recommends corrective actions.


  • Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.


  • Evaluates and process Engineering Change Orders.


  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Attendance is an essential duty of this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.

Educational/Certification Requirement:


  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
