Job summary

UCT is hiring to lead a global-scale production cell in Singapore. You will supervise a large team of operators/technicians to consistently hit daily manufacturing targets while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities include cross-training, check-sheet governance, and driving continuous productivity improvements. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma/Degree in Engineering, with experience using SAP, MS Office, and LEAN principles, and a proven track record of leadership in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Engineering diploma or degree required with leadership exposure.
• Experience supervising in manufacturing with 50+ operators/technicians.
• Ability to work day/night shift and manage safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and lead a team of Production Operators/Technicians to achieve daily targets.
• Oversee production activities and enforce discipline and safety.
• Coordinate cross-training for operators/technicians to upgrade skills.
• Ensure check sheets and records are kept before, during, and after activities.
• Lead productivity improvement projects and address production gaps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and lead a team of Production Operators/Technicians to achieve daily manufacturing targets within acceptable quality and safety level
• Overall supervision of production activities
• Plan and manage cross training program for Production Operators/Technicians in upgrading individual skills and job knowledge
• Ensure subordinates carry out necessary check sheets and record sheets before, during and after activities (as required)
• Enforce shop floor discipline control with good housekeeping and safety at the workplace
• Ensure risks and gaps in production floor are identified and control measures in placed
• Lead in productivity improvement projects
• Able to perform and support any other tasks as instructed by Superior

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in MS Office, Outlook, SAP and good understanding of LEAN concept
• Effective communication skills in building key relationships with your team and other departments
• Positive working attitude and independent
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Diploma/Degree in any Engineering or its equivalent

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum 3 years working experience as a Supervisor in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership skills with proven track record in leading a team of >50 Operators /Technicians
• Able to commit to 8 hours shift (Day/Night)

Work Experience:

• Preferably with at least 3 years supervising role in contract manufacturing
