The Ministry Of Social And Family Development is looking for a Family Coach to implement the Community Link initiative aimed at empowering low-income families. Your role involves regular engagement with families, building trust, and coordinating assistance.
Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Social Work or related fields and have at least 3 years of experience in social services. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for this position.
The Social Support Group (SSP) oversees all policy, planning and delivery of social services for low-income and vulnerable families, including persons with disabilities. The Service Delivery Division (SD) oversees all direct operations, including Social Service Offices (SSOs), service management of Family Service Centres, administration of schemes for student and childcare and Student Care Centre operations.
As a Family Coach (FC) within the SSO, you will support the implementation of Community Link (ComLink), an initiative that provides proactive and integrated family‑centric support to low‑income, vulnerable families with children living in rental flats with the aim of empowering them to achieve Stability, Self‑reliance and, ultimately, Social mobility (3‘S’). You will maintain regular engagement with these families. These regular engagements will allow you to (1) befriend the family to build trust and rapport, (2) work with the family to come up with an action plan that would help them address their needs and achieve their aspirations, (3) coordinate with various agencies to bring in assistance for the families, where needed and (4) monitor the families’ progress towards achieving 3‘S’ goals. In delivering social support to these families, you are required to work closely with the team of MSF officers and other stakeholders such as government organisations, Social Service Agencies, Advisers & their grassroots leaders, community partners, as well as volunteers.
