Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking a full-time Shipyard Facility/Plant Manager. You will lead maintenance staff, develop maintenance schedules, and ensure compliance with ISO standards while managing budgets and coordinating with other departments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Marine or Civil Engineering with 5-7 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in MS Projects and MS Office. Indonesian work authorization is required.

• Maintain workshops, office buildings, gravel docks, slipways, and finger pier to health and safety requirements.
• Work with other departments to support yard operations (dock lighting, gates, welding machines).

About the role

This position is required to be full-time based in Indonesia, Batam. The role involves developing, preparing and executing Planned Maintenance schedules with a team of shipyard maintenance staff, leading a team of maintenance staff to upkeep and maintain equipment, machineries, prime movers, and cranes (overhead, crawler & gantry etc), and ensuring facility development projects are carried out effectively and completed on schedule within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, prepare and execute Planned Maintenance schedules with a team of shipyard maintenance staff

• Check and verify maintenance team daily work done

• Lead a team of maintenance staff to upkeep and maintain equipment, machineries, prime movers, cranes (overhead, crawler & gantry etc)

• Custodian of all maintenance records as per ISO standards

• Maintain the workshops, office buildings, gravel docks, slipways, finger pier to health and safety operational requirements

• Work closely with other departments and support yard operations (eg, dock lightings, dock gates, welding machines etc)

• Ensure facility development projects are carried out effectively and completed on schedule within budget

• Prepare annual budget for tools and equipment

• Plan, vet and approve subcontractors equipment/tools to be used in shipyard

• Monitor hazardous waste (eg, B3 waste) generated in the shipyard is handled and disposed in accordance to local laws and regulation

About you

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or Civil Engineering with strong technical background

• Minimum 5-7 years as shipyard facility / plant facility manager

• Microsoft Projects, MS Office, ISO standards

• Able to work in Indonesia, Batam full time
