Job description

The Facilities Specialist Executive (or Housekeeping Specialist) is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and upkeep across guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities, in line with the hotel's five-star service standards and operational requirements. Key duties include deep-cleaning, equipment maintenance, and strict compliance with local health and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deep-cleaning activities, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing furniture, and maintaining floors, fixtures, and fittings.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including bathtubs, showers, toilets, washbasins, mirrors, and other surfaces.
• Handle the collection, sorting, and distribution of laundry.
• Replenish guest amenities and supplies, including toiletries, towels, drinking glasses, and coffee and tea provisions.
• Maintain and organize housekeeping trolleys, cleaning materials, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities, including recreational areas and swimming pools, where applicable.
• Identify and promptly report any defects, damages, wear and tear, or malfunctioning equipment, such as air-conditioning units, televisions, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, to the Engineering or Maintenance Department.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and routine upkeep of housekeeping tools and cleaning equipment.
• Strictly adhere to Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, as well as the hotel's health, safety, and hygiene policies.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist guests with enquiries, special requests, and other housekeeping-related matters in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Handle lost and found items responsibly and promptly report all recovered items to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Management.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in housekeeping, hotel operations, facilities management, or a similar role.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, handle cleaning equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Good work ethic, responsible attitude, and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of workplace safety and hygiene standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to operational requirements.
• Able to commence work immediately or at short notice.
