Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science or related discipline.
• At least 4 years in business development or key account sales, with a minimum of 2 years in the food and beverage industry.
• Proven track record of opening new accounts and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Sound working knowledge of F&B commercial practice, including product costing, margins, shelf life, lead times, listings and trade terms.

Responsibilities

• Identify, approach and win new corporate, wholesale, retail and institutional accounts across our product range.
• Build and maintain an accurate pipeline that the business can forecast against.
• Prepare and present proposals, product tastings and pitches to prospective customers.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, lead times and terms within our commercial framework, escalating anything outside it for approval.
• Grow the accounts you own through regular contact, the right product mix and seasonal campaigns, and conduct periodic account reviews.
• Own the annual festive and corporate gifting cycle for your accounts, including forecasting and pre-selling.
• Work with our production and kitchen teams on customer requests, customisation, packaging and realistic lead times before committing to a customer.
• Work with the sales administration, warehouse and logistics teams so that every order you close is delivered accurately and on time.
• Monitor competitor activity, retail pricing and market trends, and bring recommendations to management.
• Submit weekly pipeline updates and monthly reports against your targets, and support the recovery of overdue accounts.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, roadshows and bazaars.
