Job summary

SPH Media seeks a Manager (External Comms) to strengthen visibility, reputation and engagement with external stakeholders. You will shape narratives, manage media relations, and deliver high-quality external communications aligned with brand priorities.

The role includes issues management, crisis communications support, and strategic planning to protect and enhance corporate image and product/service initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in external communications or media-facing roles.
• Strong command of English; second language is a plus.
• Proven ability to translate complex issues into clear narratives.
• Experience with crisis communications and issues management is preferred.
• Excellent editing and messaging skills; able to lead strategic comms plans.

Responsibilities

• Serve as key contact for media queries and story development.
• Prepare media invites, releases, Q&As to drive publicity.
• Monitor media coverage and sentiment trends impacting SPH Media.
• Build relationships with editors and journalists for coverage.
• Develop and implement external communications strategies.
• Draft materials: speeches, corporate statements, factsheets.
• Provide communications counsel to internal stakeholders.
• Support crisis communications and rapid-response efforts.
• Produce audience-relevant content with cross-functional teams.
• Track campaign performance and refine strategies.
