Job summary

Ocean Network Express is seeking a role focused on improving transhipment cost efficiency by advancing connections and optimizing processes. You will review schedules, identify overbooking risks, and coordinate with the transhipment team to implement improvements across systems and stakeholders.

The position involves data-driven analysis, reporting, and collaboration with IT, operations, and PSA to streamline approvals and invoicing. A maritime diploma and 2+ years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Maritime Studies or shipping-related field.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Portnet is an advantage.
• Interest or background in data tools (Power BI, Excel VBA, or basic SQL) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to advance transhipment connections to earlier sailings by reviewing vessel schedules, connection windows and space capacity.
• Coordinate with transhipment team colleagues to execute such advancements.
• Send weekly reports to space controllers highlighting overbooking over the next 2–3 weeks for solution planning.
• Update PSA of transhipment plans to aid yard planning.
• Verify PSA invoices.
• Attend bi-monthly meetings with PSA to address Portnet issues.
• Cover duties related to submission of cargo clearance permits and ensure timely approvals.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency through tech-driven solutions.
• Support system enhancements, UAT, and implementation of new systems and tools.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations and other stakeholders to resolve system issues.
• Develop and continuously improve process documentation and work instructions.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks.

The purpose of this role is to improve transhipment cost efficiency through cargo advancement, highlighting to space controllers potential overbooking and improving process efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to advance transhipment connections of dangerous goods and reefer shipments to earlier sailings by reviewing vessel schedules, connection windows and space capacity.
• Coordinate with other colleagues in the transhipment team to execute such advancements.
• Send weekly reports to space controllers to highlight overbooking over the next two to three weeks so that space controllers can determine solutions to control bookings.
• Update PSA of transhipment plans to facilitate PSA's yard planning.
• Verify PSA invoices.
• Attend bi-monthly meeting with PSA to address Portnet related issues.
• Cover duties related to the submission of cargo clearance permits, namely, verifying supporting documentation, liaising with internal stakeholders and relevant authorities and ensuring timely submission of applications for approval.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through technology-driven solutions.
• Support system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and the implementation of new systems, tools, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, and other key stakeholders to resolve system issues.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve process documentation and work instructions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational consistency.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks.

Job Requirements

• At least Diploma in Maritime Studies / Shipping-related disciplines or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially intermediate/advanced Excel) and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Portnet is an advantage.
• An interest or background in data tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel VBA, or basic SQL) is a plus but not mandatory.
